Ghana Football Association (GFA) Free Licence D Coaching course concludes in Volta Region of Ghana

Volta, Ghana — As part of a nationwide effort to build grassroots technical capacity, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has completed the second batch of its Free Licence “D” Coaching Course in the Volta Region.

This week-long program, hosted at the Volta Youth Resource Center in Adaklu, brought together youth coaches from different football districts across the region.

The training, led by the renowned Mr. Burton Asare and supported by regional instructors Simon Kpewu and Nana Bodua, focused on key aspects such as grassroots coaching methods, passing and dribbling techniques, youth development strategies, injury prevention, and more. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Asare praised the participants for their dedication and discipline, expressing his confidence in the program’s positive outcomes.

He advised the coaches to remain humble and let their work speak for itself.

Volta FA Chairman, Mr. Agbogah, also lauded the participants’ conduct, expressing optimism about the next edition of the inter-district juvenile championship.

He commended the GFA President, Mr. Kurt Okraku, and his executive for the laudable initiative to train coaches across the country.

The Regional FA Chairman urged participants to say a prayer for the GFA President anytime they go on their knees to pray.

He added that “It takes a leader with great vision to initiate a program such as this for free for participants”.

He thanked the instructors for their time, patience, and the knowledge imparted.

He further encouraged participants to share their ideas and opinions with the leadership of the Regional FA, which is committed to listening to constructive criticism.

Course Representative, Goodness Bright Mighty, expressed his appreciation on behalf of his colleagues to the GFA President, Mr. Kurt Okraku, for the opportunity to participate in the program, promising to use their knowledge for the development of football in the Volta Region and Ghana at large.

Within five years, the Volta Region has seen over 200 coaches benefit from the GFA Free Licence D Coaching training.

The GFA Free Licensed D coaching program is part of the association’s nationwide initiative to build the technical capacity of grassroots coaches, especially those working with juvenile players.
